The Avengers

It's almost that time of the year when sports fans and people who just don't care about football gather around their television with nachos, chips and pizza for the Super Bowl. While the big game is happening in my home state, I'll be staying as far away from Indianapolis as possible and watching the game and all the spiffy ads (like the Ferris Bueller inspired Honda ad with Matthew Broderick) on a big screen TV. But now we have a sneak peek at what will surely be one of the more exciting TV spots with about 15 seconds of The Avengers ad that will air during the big game. Get a taste below and tune in Sunday for all the movie ads!

Here's a sneak peek at The Avengers Super Bowl spot discovered by Bleeding Cool:

When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. The star studded cast includes Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, as well as Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgård who are reprising their respective roles as Loki and Professor Selvig from Thor. Marvel's The Avengers hits theaters everywhere May 4th, 2012.

Is it still an Iron Man led film? Or will it be an equal pov film?

Xerxexx on Jan 31, 2012

Thought it was Capt. America led POV cause he was asleep for 50ish years.

Anonymous on Jan 31, 2012

I've heard conflicting side says Iron Man the other say Capt.

Xerxexx on Jan 31, 2012

Well, Joss Whedon said himself that it would be more through the eyes of Captain America. Here was part of the interview: "Whedon explained his game plan of Captain America/Steve Rogers/Chris Evans taking the reigns of The Avengers to Entertainment Weekly. “So much of [The Avengers] story takes place from Steve Rogers’ perspective, since he’s the guy who just woke up and sees this weird-ass world.  Everyone else has been living in it.  He’s the guy that feels that sense of loss," Whedon said." That answer yer question?

That's good that its confirmed to be through the Caps eyes. I love Iron Man and all but I wanna see it through another pov.

Xerxexx on Jan 31, 2012

it's more like it will be told on Cap.America's POV but majority of the viewers will be watching it for Iron Man

Jericho on Jan 31, 2012

Commercials are probably more Iron Man to draw in crowds.. then we will get more Thor and Cap time to help push their sequels and possibly same for Hulk. That's what I would do anyway.

Kaim on Jan 31, 2012

Cool....I guess?

Voice of Reason on Jan 31, 2012

I paused at 00:10 and there is what looks like 3 alien ships coming through the flames. Need 1080p on to see properly

The Hulk looks amazing!

rickvanr on Jan 31, 2012

I hope it ends up looking like Ed Norton's Hulk. I always thought Hulk looked stupid with the super short patch of hair on top.

Chris Amaya on Jan 31, 2012

Great Hulk

Everything looks cooler with canted framing.

JP on Jan 31, 2012

Didn't battlefield earth do that throughout the whole movie? The Dutch Angle I believe it's called.

Chris Amaya on Jan 31, 2012

When is SuperBowl again? It's for the ads and trailers... I don't care much for American Football.

Mithun Divakaran on Jan 31, 2012

I believe its this sunday.

Will the superbowl advert be longer than this?

V33kesh on Jan 31, 2012

More cars flipping?

Chris on Jan 31, 2012

Comparison of exactly the same frame from trailer and from super bowl commercial: Notice different buildings in the background.

Best Hult look yet!

Ryderup on Feb 1, 2012

It still looks Promising! I am a bit skeptical still and I hope that there will be more than CARS Blowing up in the actual movie (which Im sure there will be) cause last time I checked that doesnt count as Taking Over the World!

Anyone else think this movie is going to be a total let down?

Jeff Metzger on Feb 1, 2012

I have a feeling! I just hope the feeling is wrong! We cant really say until we actually see the movie! Im keeping my fingers crossed!

N. on Feb 1, 2012

Yup. I share that thought exactly. Nothing I have seen of this movie looks really exciting: promotional banners; posters; teaser; trailers; and the vehicle designs look terrible. To top it all off, Caps costume looks awful. This has train wreck written all over it.
