After writing and producing Kissing Jessica Stein, not to mention making a name for herself as an actress in that same film along with series like "24," the endearing Jennifer Wesfeldt has gone into the director's chair for her first time with the promising new romantic comedy Friends with Kids. Featuring fantastic half the cast of Bridesmaids including Kirsten Wiig, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph and Chris O'Dowd, the film follows Adam Scott and Wesfeldt herself as they decide to have a kid without the hassle of being married or in love. While the premise sounds hokey, this does look like it could be good. Watch it below!
Here's the first trailer for Jennifer Westfeldt's Friends with Kids originally via Yahoo! Movies:
Friends with Kids is directed, written and produced by Jennifer Westfeldt who also stars opposite Adam Scott in the story about two friends who decide they want the joy of having a child but without the red tape of getting married and being in love with one another. Skeptical friends come in the form of Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph and Chris O'Dowd (all from the comedy Bridesmaids) while things get complicated as each of the new parents pursue their own romantic exploits played by Edward Burns and Megan Fox. Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate bring the film to theaters on March 9th, 2012. Good?

It feels like the director watched 'Bridesmaids'... felt like she could do something similar... and over-reached.

The director, Jennifer Westfeldt, has been writing this script for years and it was already done filming before "Bridesmaids" was even released.

Will the main audience know this information before hand though? Sorry for "feeling" this way? :S Anyway, I'm not too interested. :/

I'm sad lately because I've watched every episode of IT Crowd available on Netflix and I want more.

No, no its not. Only a special in 2012. There is however Life's Too Short and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of todd Margaret to hold us over.

Not having seen this film I am going to make the prediction that Ed Burns and Megan Fox end up hooking up once Adam Scott and Jennifer Westfeldt realize, SURPRISE!, that they actually love each other. Oh, and Jon Hamm and Kirsten Wiig will not make it as the newlywed couple. Prove me wrong formulaic Hollywood shmultz!

and so what if you're right? it doesn't mean it won't be what the critic quotes in the trailer say it is. great, very funny cast that just happened to recently prove they're awesome, ,a well reviewed writer/director, and it isn't a sequel or reboot. there's no reason why anyone should hate on the trailer too bad. i'll see it

Because I don't want to see talent like this wasted on the same old movie you've seen several times already being churned out to make a quick buck. Predictable laughs are never as fun as original wit and plot.

already saw this movie.. wasnt very good at all. Was hard to make it halfway through it actually. Not very funny, not very romantic... ah well.

Looks like they've given at least three quarters of the movie away.

So... it's like Friends With Benefits, but instead of casual sex they're having a baby.

This could actually work... didn't make me vomit in my mouth, which is good.

Party Down will always bias me with Adam Scott. I'm glad he's getting in on some larger role and is being recognized.
