ABC Monsters

Not too long ago, we featured a cool video called ABCinema that paired each letter of the alphabet with a visual and sound clips from a movie. Then it was recently followed by 123Film, which used a numeric animation to take us through a handful of fine films. Now a new French animator known on Vimeo as La Pompadour has delivered a new one with a trip through movie monsters with ABC Monsters. As the opening bumper says, this video is dedicated to all the monsters who screwed our nights. I love you so much, you bastards." Surely some of the monsters haunted your childhood (and even adult) dreams. Watch!

Here is La Pomadour's ABC Monsters, which a reader sent our way from Vimeo:

Clearly there's some easy one's in there like "A" for Alien and "F" for Freddy Krueger, but Seitz has also included some creatures that I wouldn't necessarily call monsters like E.T. The Extra Terrestrial and The Terminator. Plus, there's a bit of cheating with using the titular serial killer "Dexter" and the TV version of "The Incredible Hulk," but the animation is so damn cool, that we won't hold it against him. Plus, there's some we haven't yet figured out from this fantastic little video. But can you name them all?

Awesome! love these videos! I can't figure out what the 'I', 'Q', 'X', 'Y', and 'Z' are supposed to be...?

whoah, 'R' for Razorback, haven't thought about that film in a while - '900 pounds of marauding tusk and muscle!'. lots of fun, and great to see classics like Nosferatu in there, though i'm not sure if E.T. ever 'screwed my nights'.
