Both Samuel L. Jackson and Anne Hathaway see their respective Oscar contending films Django Unchained and Les Miserables hitting theaters on Christmas Day. As is the case with many powerful awards contending dramas, they each have some sad stories to tell (though we hear Quentin Tarantino's film is also quite funny). But Jackson and Hathaway want to lighten things up around the holidays with some cheer. Or at least, that's what they try to do until they get into an argument about whose film is more sad in this epic "Sad-Off." This video is worth watching just to hear Hathaway say "motherf*cker" to Jackson.
Here's the Sad-Off with Samuel L. Jackson and Anne Hathaway, from Funny or Die:
Of course, audiences themselves will have to decide which film is more sad. My bet is on Les Miserables because as Ms. Hathaway said, it's literally called "The Miserable." But of course, slavery is a pretty dark and twisted part of America's history, so Jackson has a point. Either way, Christmas Day will be a good one for a trip to the movies. Take your pick, or see both big awards contenders, and let us know what you think.
