Hell yes, don't miss, a must watch! Sony Classics has finally unveiled the official US trailer for Indonesian action movie favorite The Raid, which has been blowing everyone away since TIFF last year and Sundance this year. It's being retitled to The Raid: Redemption for release over here, as I think they're aiming to turn it into a franchise with sequels, but this is still the same best-action-movie-in-years that everyone needs to see as soon as possible. So badass. The Raid focuses on Rama, a member of a special forces team that arrives at an apartment in Jakarta being run by a druglord, and the chaos that ensues when they invade. Have fun!

In the heart of Jakarta lies a rundown apartment infested with druggies and drifters, ruled by a ruthless drug lord. The apartment block is considered untouchable by even the bravest of police—until one early morning when, cloaked under dawn's darkness, an elite SWAT team, led by Officer Rama (Iko Uwais), raids the peril-filled structure. As Rama's squad races between the maze of rooms and floors, encountering a barrage of gunfire, machetes, and ruthless hand-to-hand combat around every corner, the stakes get higher and higher. The Raid is written & directed by Welsh filmmaker Gareth Huw Evans, of Merantau previously. Sony Pictures Classics will finally be releasing The Raid: Redemption starting on March 23rd this spring.

Been looking forward to this since the first teaser trailer, but adding 'Redemption' to the title makes it worse not better :/

Agreed. The Raid on its own was a better title. Now it sounds like an Underworld sequel.

This seems like the perfect film to get Tugg off the ground with because it'll probably be my only hope in getting to see this in a theater near me.
