Chimera Featurette

"We had to really push this creature to make it look like it came from hell." Damn, this actually looks badass, awesome action, give it a look. Warner Bros has released a featurette via Apple focusing on one of the monsters from Jonathan Liebesman's Wrath of the Titans, the upcoming Clash of the Titans 3D sequel arriving in two weeks. This featurette is about the Chimera, the two-headed mythical beast that they fight in the movie. It looks like it's early on too, as it hints about this being a sign for destruction to come. Sam Worthington returns as Perseus and is joined by Rosamund Pike as Andromeda. Check this out!

Watch the Chimera featurette for Jonathan Liebesman's Wrath of the Titans, in HD via Apple:

Perseus (Worthington) embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus (Neeson), who has been targeted for capture by his traitorous son, Ares (Édgar Ramírez), and brother, Hades (Fiennes).

Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to the Clash of the Titans remake from 2010, is directed by South African filmmaker Jonathan Liebesman, of Darkness Falls, The Killing Room and Battle: Los Angeles previously. The screenplay was written by Dan Mazeau & David Leslie Johnson. Warner Bros has Wrath of the Titans, which was shot in 3D, scheduled for release starting on March 30th in a few weeks. Anyone seeing this?

I had super low expectations for the 1st one and kinda enjoyed parts of it.  Doing the same for this one. Oh, and Rosamund Pike... yum.

The first one was very middling. It wasn't particularly great, but it wasn't particularly bad, it had good and bad moments. But it's understandable considering that they downsized Beacham's supposedly epic script by a significant margin from the get to. On top of that, via editing and reshoots, they changed the romantic interest of the film, changed the arcs and motivations of both Perseus and Zeus, AND dropped an entire subplot involving the Olympians scheming against one another. I don't see how this film doesn't have a lot more focus on exactly what it wants to be...and that's a great start.

It looks like this one is just going to be Perseus fighting Hellspawn. I will see it. Even if the plot is shit (*SPOILER: it will be).

minor error, not trying to be a smartass, but Clash came out in 2010. on topic, Clash changed too much of the plot from the original unnecessarily so it made less sense and was all over the place (not that the original was exactly Oscar-worthy). The fx and action scenes and casting were fine but forgettable.  Even with a better, more focused plot, the ultimate outcome will probably be largely similar: a fairly entertaining mythology-inspired fantasy action popcorn flick that is enjoyable, but doesn't make much of an impact.

Yep. First one was a let down.

This wasn't shot in 3D. It's a post production conversion from 2D, just like the first one...   straight from the directors mouth as of 2 days ago....  http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Wrath-Titans-Director-Jonathan-Liebesman-Discusses-Doing-3D-CG-Right-30155.html
