After giving the remake treatment to Halloween and then crafting an inferior sequel, horror writer and director Rob Zombie is back with original scares this time. His new film Lords of Salem also includes a bit of a musical influence as it follows a radio station DJ who receives a wooden box containing a vinyl record, described as “a gift from the Lords.” Of course, the record starts to have a strange influence on those who listen, and the band behind the record comes back and they're out for blood. Bruce Davison, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Ken Foree also star in the film and you can get a taste of the horror in store in the trailer below!
Here's the first trailer for Rob Zombie's Lords of Salem, originally from Deadline:
Rob Zombie (House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, Halloween) writes and directs Lords of Salem. Sheri Moon Zombie plays a radio station DJ who receives a wooden box containing a vinyl record, described as “a gift from the Lords.” She assumes it’s from a band trying to promote themselves. As she and others listen, they don’t realize the bizarre sounds within the grooves immediately trigger flashbacks of Salem’s violent past. Is Heidi going mad or are the Lords of Salem returning for revenge on modern day Salem? The film played TIFF 2012 and Anchor Bay releases the film into theaters sometime in the spring of 2013. Well?

I don't have any clue if this is going to be good or bad, but at least it seems ORIGINAL, which already puts it in the win column for me.

Hell yes!!!!!!! The dude is very talented and this looks more in line with The Devil's Rejects (which I consider to be a bit of a masterpiece) than his silly Halloween remakes.

Nice imagery and it looks like a good departure for Rob Zombie, however I am severely allergic to his wife's "acting".

So Rob Zombie thinks he is a mash up of Matthew Barney and Alejandro Jodorowsky. A bit pretentious.

Looks interesting but this trailer was awful, in my opinion, looked like a music video or something.

the 2nd halloween is far superior to the first vs the theatrical release. the original directors cut that was leaked before the film came out is very good. i hope you're comparing the 2nd to that version w/ your obviouse disdain. i love rob's movies. i love his cinematography.

Rob Zombie certainly has a flair for the visuals. Let's hope he's had his wife take some acting lessons since her last role and he's fleshed out a compelling and original story.

Not sure about this. Weird premise, kinda suggests there's no real danger for the protagonist. So it's just a gore-fest... I don't think so
