Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

Though it might not be quite as popular as the Harry Potter franchise, the feature film adaptations of Jeff Kinney's best-selling graphic novels for kids which started with Diary of Wimpy Kid. Now the Heffley family is back with a third film in the form of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days with our main character Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) on his summer vacation and hatching a plan to pretend he has a job at a ritzy country club which fails to keep him away from the season's dog days, including embarrassing mishaps at a public pool and a camping trip that goes horribly wrong. It looks like childish fun for the young fans. Watch!

Chloe Moretz isn't listed in the casting list for this. She appeared in the original, but wasn't in the sequel and I don't expect her to be in this one either.

Your opening sentence doesn't finish?

Duh!  I guess you have to wait for the movie to come out to see the finish.....

Looks darker than the first, are the going for the Nolan crowd? The first film was pretty funny, this looks alright too.

Well the cast is getting a lot older. And the comedy looks alright. And why did they skip the Last Straw.(it was the best book) I think they just through it in Rodrick Rules.

They didn't skip the "Last Straw", this 3rd movie combines the Diary of a a Wimpy Kid, Tha Last Straw with Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Days.  Should be very entertaining, can't wait to see what ride they chose for the "Cranium Shaker".

Loved the first two movies of Diary.  This trailer looks great!  Probably the best of the 3.  It's a John Hughes type story for Middle School.  Should be another hit!

I dont know, I think the writing is a bit shallow and somewhat rushed I would guess.  The acting is sub par at best, I am well aware I am watching a movie trailer.  They didnt suck me in at all.  The actual likelyhood of what's going on doesn't seem possible.  And the story seems to go nowhere.  I think the director could have stepped outside the box on this one and created a drama a little more versatile in that aspect.

Why did they skip a book?
