The Dictator French Trailer

"We are just two ordinary, American tourists." So this isn't exactly Borat after all. Paramount France has posted a full French trailer via Dailymotion for The Dictator, the new Sacha Baron Cohen comedy, where he plays a "fictional" dictator from the Middle East who comes to America. We've seen a teaser trailer and even a Super Bowl spot for this, but this is the first trailer to reveal an intriguing (spoiler warning) plot twist, I guess, where he loses his beard, and becomes an ordinary citizen lost in New York. It doesn't play like a spoiler at all, but does have a lot of potentially offense jokes at the expense of Americans. Check it out.

Watch the second official trailer for Larry Charles' The Dictator, originally via Dailymotion / YouTube:

And there goes the beard! The Dictator is again being helmed Larry Charles, director of Borat and Bruno, as well as Religulous and episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiasm". The cast for The Dictator also includes Anna Faris, Ben Kingsley, John C. Reilly, even B.J. Novak and Aasif Mandvi, and now we finally get to see who a few of their characters actually are. Apparently, Saddam Hussein's best-selling novel Zabibah and the King "inspired" this story about a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy will never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. Paramount will be bringing Baron Cohen's The Dictator to theaters everywhere starting May 11th this summer. For more, visit: Funny or offense?

I didn't know Jason Mantzoukas was in this!  The guy still looks like Rafi!

So your spoiler warning includes the spoiler itself?  Strange... s

Anna Faris is in this? Awesome! 😀

Anna Faris witha pixie? I like it. John C. Reily makes it a must see. In all honesty it does look good.

I wasn't sure about this movie before.  Honestly, I wouldn't be interested if they didn't reveal the plot twist.

god I hope there's a sequel with a Zohan crossover.

So the jokes are at the expense of Americans by a foreigner who has made his career in America. Nice. This actually looks somewhat funny, if only for the gags.

I thought the last trailer was dumb, and borderline offensive.  This actually made me laugh.

I liked this movie better when it was called Coming to America.
