Magic Mike Trailer

"You are the husband that they never had." Women, this is mostly for you. But, to be honest, it's not as bad as it sounds. In fact, it looks like there's even a legitimate story here about a male stripper. Warner Bros has unveiled the full-length official trailer on Apple for Steven Soderbergh's Magic Mike, the male stripper movie he made starring Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey and Matt Bomer. Yea, this is going to make a boatload of money this summer with the ladies. On the other side, it stars Cody Horn (who?) and Olivia Munn, of all people, but Soderbergh always has oddly intriguing casts. Check it!

Watch the first official trailer for Steven Soderbergh's Magic Mike, in high def from Apple:

A young upstart male stripper (Alex Pettyfer) is taken under the wing of his more experienced colleagues.

Magic Mike is directed by Steven Soderbergh (Ocean's Eleven, Contagion, Out of Sight) and written by Reid Carolin. Channimg Tatum plays the titular male stripper in a story that draws from the actor's real-life experiences when he became an exotic male dancer at age 19. McConaughey plays a stripper named Dallas. Alex Pettyfer plays young up-and-coming dancer "The Kid" who becomes Magic Mike's protege and learns how to hustle on and off the stage. Warner Bros is bringing this crazy fun Magic Mike movie to theaters starting June 29th this summer, for a double dose of Tatum with G.I. Joe: Retaliation that same weekend.

why do soderburghs movies always have a yellowish tint to the shots? but it does look like it has potential. i thought pettyfer was the main character though, why is he not in the trailer more?

Cody Horn is Alan Horn's daughter. And Alan Horn is the president of Warner Bros., the studio behind... Magic Mike. It'll definitely be interesting to see - based on her performance - if she earned this role or if it was one "forced" upon Soderbergh. Honestly, though, she seems pretty good here and even somewhat refreshing.

Ah and there we go, thanks... and AH that's why I thought I remembered seeing her somewhere before. Yea, she actually looks pretty damn good in this, refreshing indeed. I hope this is good, I love Soderbergh's films, maybe he actually made a male stripper movie interesting? Dare I say...

No she doesn't. I thought she was a man dressed as a woman on the first shot, no jokes. Of course who am I to judge a person on their looks, but still, her man-jaw manliness and slight slur to the speech is a pretty big turn-off for a romance movie. Now, Channing Tatum, looks like Mr Wood has finally found what he's good at. After 21 Jump Street, I will give this a shot, hopefully Horn doesn't usurp Tatum's role of wood.

Have to be honest here and it looks pretty good, looks better than your run of the mill dancing flick and much better than those atrocious female stripper movies, heres looking at you Striptease and Showgirls (sorry Paul but that one stank). Soderbergh is a good director and this could be rather good. Perhaps A strong and firm beliefe in ones masculinity is a must for most males to give it a chance.

Being female, and an adventurous moviegoer, this film looks intriguing. Channing Tatum is of no interest to me, but a movie about male strippers showing in the summer, yes and please.

"But, to be honest, it's not as bad as it sounds"  This shitty piece of writing sums up all the idiotic comments in this thread. Why does it sound bad? I bet if it were a film about female strippers starring Megan Fox we would be seeing a whole different theme in the comments here, for fucking shame. Are you nerds so insecure that the thought of naked men puts you off a film entirely?

I love Soderbergh, I think this movie looks good. I'm not the biggest Channing Tatum fan, but not to the extent where I'm not interested in seeing him expanding his horizons in more dramatic roles. I'm sure this film is going to have much more depth to it than the fact that the main character is a male stripper.

male strippers ...steven soderbergh...how do the two even go together. any way...we dont have enough male strippers movies so iam definately looking forward to this. I dont think Channing tatum is a good actor( the eagle) so this may be more his zone since his using life experiences. am giving him and his abs a chance:)

Yet another ab-tastic movie to wet the bushes of dumb ass girls everywhere. Fuck hollywood, its writers and the retarded directors and producers who have run out of ideas to cash-in on dumb shit movies like this one.

Im secure enough to give it chance. I was impressed with 21 jump street. We menu have had our share of women stripping on screen.

The script was a real punch of fun. But it was so R-rated. If they aren't cutting any of the material out, then this trailer gives a really glossy representation of how raunchy the film will be.

I feel like Soderbergh is the type of the director who goes, "Oh! You think the premise is boring and poorly written? WELL... We'll just see about that!" He's like the Roger Corman of "film".  Agree or disagree?
