Watch: 'Hunger Games' B-Roll Footage + 3AM IMAX Shows Appear
There's been plenty of pomp and circumstance surrounding the release of The Hunger Games, though none quite as thrilling as that last trailer. The film is just over a week and a half away, and people just can't wait. However, if you want to check out some more footage, we have a video of B-roll shot on set without any music, finely tuned editing or anything fancy. It's a way to experience what many of us writers see when we're on a set visit. It's quite a bland peek behind the curtain though, so beware. Also, presales for midnight IMAX shows have been selling out, so now screenings at 3am on the giant screen have been added. Enjoy!
Here's the B-roll footage from Gary Ross' adaptation of The Hunger Games, found via Nerd Bastards:
Jennifer Lawrence stars as Katniss, a 16-year-old living in the post-apocalyptic country of Panem. Every year, one boy and one girl are chosen from each of Panem's 12 districts to fight each other to their death. Josh Hutcherson plays Peeta, the boy chosen from District 12 for the Hunger Games with Katniss.
The Hunger Games is both written and directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Gary Ross, director of Seabiscuit and Pleasantville previously, but also writer of Big, Mr. Baseball, Dave, Lassie, Pleasantville and Seabiscuit. It's adapted from Suzanne Collins' popular series of novels, first published in 2008. Lionsgate is bringing Hunger Games to theaters everywhere March 23rd, 2012. May the odds be ever in your favor.

I've been (true to my nerdiness) avoiding anything "extra" to the flick, other than the trailers. I couldn't help myself, so I watched it. I'm glad that I did, too, because it was just enough for me to hold off until the movie.

I wasn't interested in The Hunger Games until last week, when I picked up the book. Couldn't put it down, and finished it in one day. Now I can't wait for the movie.

Watching behind the scenes such as this really shows the viewer how big of a roll music, editing, and camera work play in the final product.
