Evil Dead Tribute

When it comes to horror franchises, Sam Raimi's Evil Dead series has it all. Scary, funny, gory, and with tongue always firmly in cheek, the franchise just might be as close to perfect as a horror trilogy can get. A remake is on the way, but that doesn't mean that we've forgotten about the originals, and one fan has created a spectacular tribute to those movies to prove it. The guys at Poster Collective point us to the work of Daniel Kanemoto, who is actually paying homage to Olly Moss' awesome poster for the first Evil Dead in his video, which takes us on a whirlwind tour of all three movies that hits all of the high points. Watch!

Here's the cool animated tribute to Evil Dead from Daniel Kanemoto via Poster Collective:

Pretty amazing, right? I love how the camera is always moving, and the whole vibe seems like something Guillermo del Toro would have created. All of the inside jokes are there for the fans, from the scurrying hand, to the bloody chainsaw, and even the "this is my boomstick!" line that star Bruce Campbell has made infamous. The Evil Dead continues to be influential even now, providing a bit of fodder for Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard to riff on with their instant cult classic The Cabin in the Woods earlier this year. I watched the first two films in this series for the first time last year, and we talked about them on my podcast so you can check that out if you're a newbie to this series like I once was. Pretty cool, right?

I know I had a big whinge about the guy who traced over Blade Runner because he didn't create anything original, but I actually liked this animation.

Awesome indeed! Loved the trilogy as a kid and the 3rd one if my fave with the comedic elements. With the way Army of Darkness ended, I wish they made a sequel sooner. Bruce Campbell is quite old now, but it would be kick-ass to see him reprise this role.

Tempter Definitely when someone do original work , he maybe done , but other fans of that original that fall for it , compare it to own-mind and turn it to something new . Really I Want More Of This. A Rare Horror US Anime. I think Sam get right decision to not directing this 4th installement either. Evil Dead 1 : Awesome / Evil Dead 2 : Masterpiece / Evil Dead 3 : Average Spiderman 1 : Awesome / Spiderman 2 : Masterpiece / Spiderman 3 : Average I think Sam is clever enough to know : When Someone Run Out Of New Ideas Must Get Out But he deliver us what we want too, he have respect for Appetite Of His Fans. Great Delicious Meal Expect Us , But Alvarez must watch it . Don't Burn The Food

It's awesome. I laughed when I saw the deer head in there. Still chuckle whenever a deer is mentioned in a conversation. That scene was insane! Love all 3 movies.
