Watch: Mike Birbiglia & Ira Glass at the Movies for 'Sleepwalk with Me'
All right, folks, if you're not already anticipating the charming indie comedy Sleepwalk with Me, then you need to rethink your life at this point in time. The film hits New York later this month, and director and stand-up comedian Mike Birbiglia, along with co-writer, producer and "This American Life" host Ira Glass want to make sure everyone knows about it in order to get the film into more theaters. Therefore, they're embarking on a short tour to a few select theaters to screen the film and also do Q&A sessions afterwards. Best of all, they made a hilarious video with all the info you need about the screenings. Watch!
Here's the video getting the word out about Mike Birbiglia's Sleepwalk with Me via Vulture:
Also, Birbiglia wants everyone to know that if they want the film to show up at their local theater, they need to request it and get the word out so others can do the same. The film hits New York on August 24th, but the release after that has been planned a bit differently. First, Birbiglia got a list of 200 theaters most commonly used by IFC Films for distributing their films, then he left the decision up to Twitter and let his followers tweet the hashtag #bringsleepwalk at the theater closest to them. By doing that, the theater count for the planned wider release went from just 34 theaters to 98 theaters in just two weeks. So get the word out on Twitter with that hashtag so you can see the film!
For a full list of theaters getting the film over the next few weeks, keep an eye on the film's page on the "This American Life" website right here. They also have a list for all the special Q&A screenings. If you need further convincing, watch the film's first trailer and then read my review from Sundance right here where I said, "Mike Birbiglia is beyond fantastic playing a slightly fictionalized version of himself, and Sleepwalk with Me is truly a surprise gem of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Rarely does a comedian succeed so easily with his first venture into filmmaking, but somehow Birbiglia has taken his trademark awkward stories and delivered a delightful, hilarious story." Go see it!

I'm totally going to the LA showing. Ira's reactions to Mike's comments are funny.
