Watch: More Found Footage in Two 'Paranormal Activity 4' Trailers
Though an official plot never surfaced for the found footage horror sequel Paranormal Activity 4, the trailer gives us a solid idea of where the franchise is going next. As always, I'm interested in seeing how the video camera recording aspect comes into play, but another form of video other than a person recording and security cameras comes in the form of online video chatting (something used very well in the Sundance selected horror flick V/H/S). Since the time stamp on the footage says 2011, I think it's safe to say the strange kid is Hunter (kidnapped by a possessed Katie in Paranormal Activity 2) and he's got a scary friend.
Here's the first trailer for Henry Joost & Ariel Schulman's Paranormal Activity 4, from Apple:
Here's another trailer for Henry Joost & Ariel Schulman's Paranormal Activity 4 with more footage:
Paranormal Activity 4 is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Catfish, Paranormal Activity 3) with a script from TV writer Zack Estrin (who worked with franchise creator Oren Peli on "The River"). An official plot hasn't been revealed at this time, so we can only speculate as to where the franchise is going from here but Paramount Pictures will send the sequel to theaters just before Halloween on October 19th.

I'll watch it. It's probably the best horror franchise going right now, which isn't saying much at all, but I've enjoyed every one so far.

Watched the 1st one at the movies, I was falling asleep It was boring, it wasn't scary at all it relayed on pure strange things happening(which would only be scary in real line, in my opinion)until the end when a noise kind of woke me up, the second one I watched it on Netflix I think it sucked too, the third paranormal activity (well I was fooled twice so shame on me) so I didn't watch it 🙂 The fourth screw it I won't watch it either, not worth the time. Found Footage is too overused now, it was creepy back in the Blair Witch Project Days, and I admit V/H/S looks really creepy. But the Paranormal Activities are over rated. Hollywood should bring us more movies like The Cabin in the Woods, that was good movie, because it was an actual horror movie,it was original and different from all the other movies the Horror Genre has done recently, Joss Whedon did a really good job with that movie. Maybe movies like the Woman in Black too, I liked that movie the Gothic Atmosphere and the chills/suspense was good as well as the story, although I didn't like it relayed on sudden scares based on "sound" in some parts but overall it was a good Horror/Suspense movie.

I guess you must not see a lot of horror movies considering "The Cabin in the Woods" was basically a comedy (that I did enjoy). I enjoy these movies because they do have an interesting plot going on as well as a few creepy moments.

Cabin in the Woods, well I wasn't really scary(I'll agree with that) but it was a horror movie, and it was kind of a "Game changer" per say, and it kind of relates to some older horror films, so yeah it was a horror film, just because it didn't have too many bad words, or torture porn, or gore, or some other mainstream horror thing I'm forgetting, doesn't mean it wasn't a horror movie. And yeah the Paranormal Activities do have a plot never said they didn't I'm just saying that I don't think they're scary(and that's a lot to say because I get scared by those things badly because I'm really into paranormal investigations and EVP's and stuff like that) they just bore me because I was expecting something scary, and I just think that they are over rated because people make them seem like this huge deal but to me they're not, I've seen a lot of classic horror and modern day horror films and both to me are very exciting, but Paranormal Activity is just one of those series that doesn't scare me, that's all I was trying to say.

Love these movies for some reason! Best seen at home in the dark on a big screen with a great sound system alongside someone that screams when she's on the Dumbo ride at Disney World LOL

I see this series as an ongoing creepy lo-fi TV show or mini series on a big screen. It's fun and I'll take this sort of thing over idiotic torture porn like Saw any day. I do hope that the movie goes beyond just the web cam thing however...(As V/H/S already nailed that perfectly.) I'm in.

i remember the trailer for part 3 when they were saying "bloody mary" and they showed a sillohette of a woman in the mirror when they were leaving the bathroom, when i saw the movie the woman wasnt in the scene. they actually added it for the commercial to make the movie seem creepier. i bet you its the same in this and all that actually happened was the door slammed closed.
