Watch: Two Featurettes for Tom Tykwer & Wachowskis' 'Cloud Atlas'

"What if the villain of one story is actually the hero of another story, played by the same actor." I guess I have to run this new "featurette" for Cloud Atlas, even though I really don't like it that much. Yes, this features another one of my quotes from my review that makes me feel a little uneasy, but it starts off the whole thing, before plenty of other quotes, too. This featurette includes footage of directors Tom Tykwer and Lana & Andy Wachowski and Tom Hanks talking, but barely any real behind-the-scenes footage, mostly the same from the trailer. Which may make it a safe watch before the movie, in theaters next week.

Cloud Atlas is the ambitious adaptation of David Mitchell's novel, co-written/directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski (Bound, The Matrix, Speed Racer) and Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, The International), that features six century-spanning storylines, all using the same actors playing characters across time and space. The film explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future. Warner Bros has Cloud Atlas set for release on October 26th this month.
