The big push for Killing Them Softly this month came in the form of two different sets of cool posters, but now the Andrew Dominik film gets some more international buzz with a kick-ass new trailer. Every new bit of footage I see looks better and better. Brad Pitt will certainly be up for an Academy Award and Scoot McNairy just keeps putting in great supporting performances in everything, making him one of the best character actors working today. Dominik's reunion with Sam Rockwell and Casey Affleck after The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford has a lot to live up to, but it looks solid. Watch it!
Here's the newest international trailer for Andrew Dominik's Killing Them Softly, from Allocine.fr:
Killing Them Softly, based on George V. Higgins' crime novel Cogan's Trade, follows Jackie Cogan (Brad Pitt), an enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game perpetrated by two junkies played by Scoot McNairy (Monsters) and Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom). Andrew Dominik (Chopper, Assassination of Jesse James) both writes & directs the film which also features Casey Affleck, Sam Rockwell, Richard Jenkins (Let Me In), Ray Liotta (GoodFellas) and more. This first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and The Weinstein Co. will be releasing it starting November 30th this fall. You in?

I dunno what happened but when I hit play it took me to the original site and then the sound was playing but they were showing a commercial and then it started playing the Looper trailer on your site... Anyone else have this issue? I am super excited for this film. The original trailer looked fantastic! I will try this one again in a little bit. 🙂

the trailers make you think the film is going to be a hitman film with swag and style... trust me its not.... its not even that type of film at its core :s think thats what annoyed me the most.. if you go and see it the first 10 mins you'll be thinking what the hell is this all about lol

Agree with the rest of the comments, seen it here in Australia one or 2 weeks ago, and its a fairly odd movie, not what you'd expect it to be. Has some very nicely shot action scenes, and the characters are awesome, but the plot/story is lacking..

The thing about it is the ENTIRE storyline would be something that's the catalyst or inciting incident in another movie. What I dug, though, was the cynical nature of it, and linking the GFC with crime and the whole committee behind the gangland aspect of it. The dialogue seemed to make the film drag, and for a film that's 97 mins, it felt much longer. But I'll be seeing it again.
