"What the hell am I carrying?!" Ah yes, the bike messenger action movie starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt is back, and it's still not out yet. Columbia Pictures pushed the release date back from January to late August this summer, and has now deliver a second trailer timed closer with this late release to remind us that it's coming. Premium Rush stars Gordon-Levitt as Wilee, a NYC bike messenger who picks up a package that puts him in the sights of a dirty cop, played by Michael Shannon, who follows him around the city. This looks crazy fun, but honestly a little too cheesy, but I still can't wait to see it. "Sometimes we gotta hit back!"
Here's the second official trailer for David Koepp's Premium Rush, originally from Yahoo:
In Premium Rush, a New York bike messenger (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) picks up an envelope that attracts the interest of a dirty cop (Michael Shannon), who pursues the cyclist throughout the city desperate to get his hands on the envelope. Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch), Dania Ramirez (X-Men: The Last Stand) and Aasif Mandvi (Ghost Town) also star in this. David Koepp, director of Ghost Town and Secret Window and writer of Jurassic Park and Mission: Impossible, is directing the film and also co-wrote the script with John Kamps (who also wrote Ghost Town). Premium Rush hits theaters on August 24th late this summer.

I'm not JGL nutswinger, and he's definitely a great actor. He put a lot of effort into this role and we saw a lot of behind the scenes stuff, so not taking anything away from him, but this movie looks like an average popcorn flick to me and maybe that's all it is and that's great. I guess fits right into the late summer time slot. Thank God for Michael Shannon though.

They have potentially ruined the film...they've thrown the fast and furious book at it...that kinda worked for fast and furious...but this should have been different, if you go by the way it was first pitched (as a premise). Was the hell'a-chessy action flick what they initially set out to do..?

I love how New York looks to be one of the characters in the movie.

Haha yeah, I was thinking the same thing. "Oh man, a weird looking dude threatened my entire family? I'm not making enough as a bike messenger for this shit. Here's the envelope, have a nice day."

Just makes me wonder if there's a chance of another 'bike messenger movie', adapting the inFamous video game.

Nothing like New York in the summer. This looks well worth $11 for some fast paced fun and great scenery....whizzing by.

Any bike messengers out there? How far from realistic is this depiction ?Not the story obviously just the way they traverse the city...I am guessing actual messengers don't pull spectacular Evel Knievel type life risking stunts on a daily basis just to deliver some mail...

Considering how ridiculously some pizza delivery scooters act, I wouldn't be surprised. Running lights, crossing through traffic, skidding out, not as crazy as this, but also heavier vehicles.

MOVING AT A RUSHING PACE OF 15-25 MPH! But really, they are trying to make bike riding cool.

Not crazy about Dana Ramirez...every time I see her, I am reminded of her terrible turn in "Heroes'...she was just awful.

Reminds me of that other JGL movie Uncertainty

Exactly, but this one looks a little less...comtemplative? Basically this movie looks like half of Uncertainty.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Uncertainty 2

Does this have anything to do with the rollerblade messenger book with a similar title? I believe it was called The Ultimate Rush?
