Pixar's Brave TV Spot

"If you had the chance to change your fate, would you?" Wow. Disney ran a TV spot during the Oscars, now online via TheMovieBox, that's one of the best looks at this we've seen yet. It finally shows Brave in the way it should be shown and captures the wonder and magic of Pixar storytelling. In barely 30 seconds, using only one line and folk music, they capture characters and relationships, Scottish heritage and honor of their land, the crazy beauty of Merida's red hair, and a slight hint at where it's going with the bears and her fairytale fate, in one beautiful package. I love it, the best footage we've seen from Pixar's Brave yet. Bravo!

Watch the first fantastic TV spot for Pixar's Brave, their first fairytale, online via TheMovieBox:

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In Pixar's Brave, a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Brave was originally being directed by Pixar's first female director, Brenda Chapman (of Prince of Egypt), but she was then joined by Mark Andrews (of the short One Man Band) who took over to help finish the movie. Disney has scheduled Pixar's Brave for release this summer starting June 22nd in 3D. Look good?

This looks fantastic as far as visuals, atmosphere, music, what have you.  I'd like to see a live action movie like this because there just aren't that many good live action adventure movies.  Still, I'll take a good animated adventure movie any day.

I saw 'The Secret of Kells' the other day and it got me excited for 'Brave.' I wonder how this apple and that orange will compare.

Jockooooooooooooooo! Scotland looks exactly like that only with the saturation turned way down to -60. It's so grey. My kid is going to love it I think.

how has no one brought up THIS yet: go to the site http://disney.go.com/brave/ and there's an extended clip. it's a fantastic scene, easily the best thing we've been shown so far.  any doubt left in my mind is shredded by the clip.  twice.
