Total Recall

Mash-up videos are a dime a dozen nowadays, and most of them aren't really worth featuring. But every now and then, someone just nails it to the maximum effect, and it's worth highlighting right here. Such is the case with a spectacular trailer mash-up that a few different readers have sent us which takes footage from Paul Verhoeven's original 1990 sci-film Total Recall starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, but uses the audio track from the full trailer for Len Wiseman's remake starring Colin Farrell. It's a seriously awesome little edit, and some of the lines of dialogue even match-up with the scenes perfectly. Check it out below!

Here's the trailer mash-up of both the original Total Recall and Len Wiseman's remake via JoBlo:

Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard), is directing this Total Recall remake from a script by James Vanderbilt, Kurt Wimmer & Mark Bomback that is said to be more true to Philip K. Dick's original short story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale. The new story involves nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai, with Douglas Quaid (Farrell) a factory worker in the latter who begins to believe he is a spy, although he doesn’t know for which side. Bryan Cranston, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel and John Cho also star in the film which is headed to theaters on August 3rd, 2012 towards the end of summer. Thoughts?

Wow...that's one of my favourite mash-ups ever. Makes me wish the 1990 movie was coming back to theatres.

Sir I think you must see original and this one too, very beautifull , Philip K.Dick( Scifi autor) has special place in my heart. Genius . Rare Person . That was classic story and Verhoeven did great job with it. But this is seems ok but I don't trust in wiseman for earlier work. I think this is not in size of that masterpiece but is totally watchable movie.Don't miss it sir

The original was so ahead of it's time, there's no need for a remake!! As for the smash up, it OK!!

This is really fantastic. I am still hoping that the remake will be more like Blade Runner than the original Total Recall. There is so much potential. Here's my hippie/punk dystopian fusion of a reason why I'm still hoping: http://trebuchet-magazine.com/index.php/site/article/total_recall_remake_preview/
