Bel Ami

Last year brought a peek at the erotic romance Bel Ami starring Robert Pattinson in director Declan Donnellan's adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel of the same name, and while the film was originally supposed to get a release earlier in the year, it's been pushed back to a June 2nd release. Now we have a new trailer for the story following Georges Duroy (Pattinson), who travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties like Christina Ricci. Watch!

Here's the first trailer for Declan Deonnellan's adaptation of Bel Ami, originally from Apple:

Bel Ami, based on Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel of the same name, is co-directed by English filmmakers Declan Donnellan and Nick Omerod, who last teamed for the 1992 film The Big Fish. The screenplay was adapted by Rachel Bennette. Robert Pattinson stars as a man's rise to power in Paris by manipulating the city's most influential and wealthy women like Christina Ricci, Kristen Scott Thomas, Uma Thurman, Holly Grainger and Natalia Tena. Columbia Pictures sends the film to theaters on June 8th this summer. Good?

Looks like a chick flick, but Robert Pattinson has game and seems like a charismatic actor. Kudos.
