Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Trailer

"It shall only remember a fraction of the truth." After its debut at WonderCon, Fox has unveiled the second theatrical trailer via YouTube for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the action period piece starring Benjamin Walker as Honest Abe, a vampire killer. We've already seen a teaser trailer for this before and it looks a lot better than I was expecting, at least there are cool visuals and awesome fights, but it needs more and we finally get a glimpse at that here. The supporting cast includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Dominic Cooper, Alan Tudyk, Rufus Sewell and Anthony Mackie. See more axe-swingin' below!

Second official trailer for Timur Bekmambetov's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, via YouTube:

President Lincoln's mother is killed by a supernatural creature, fueling his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers. A cross between D.W. Griffith's Abraham Lincoln & F. W. Murnau's Nosferatu.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is directed by Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov, director of the Night/Day Watch series, Irony of Fate 2, and Wanted previously. An adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's mash-up novel of the same name, it was adapted by writers Seth Grahame-Smith & Simon Kinberg (of xXx: State of the Union, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, X-Men: The Last Stand, Jumper, This Means War). 20th Century Fox is bringing Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter to theaters in 3D starting June 22, 2012 this summer.

No problem with Abraham Lincoln killing vampires, but if he's doing it with an axe gun, you can't get on board?

Looks like fun!

More period battles except this time they are vampires and the hero is Abe swinging an axe. Pass. No one cares about Abe, so whether you have a new take on what he did before he was president, or you're making a biopic, the audience interest is minimal. And when you still have Twilight around and all its knockoffs, why would anyone give this a chance?  What next Gandhi: Werewolf Warrior?

I'm in. This movie looks as if it could be a blockbuster!

I agree, however the repeated swirling of the axe is overdone and i think it makes the action sequences looks cheesy.

I think that's sorta the point. It's a movie about Abraham Lincoln killing vampires.

This looks awesome. I hope next they do a superhero version of Benjamin Franklin.

Knowing that Lincoln made his money as an lawyer and legally finding ways to remove land from the Indians so that big railroad companies could move track over it, it refreshing to see him take out some bloodsuckers
