"I have tried to pretend that everything is okay." One of the panels we did not attend at Comic-Con this last week was a "Virtual Drive-In" presentation on three genre indies, one of them being this film, Branded. You've probably heard of it before considering we already featured one wacky trailer for this bizarre Russian sci-fi film that centers around marketing & branding going malicious, and this second one is just as eerie and QR-code packed. The cast is lead by Ed Stoppard, Leelee Sobieski, Max von Sydow and Jeffrey Tambor, and it's quite a trip. I'm kind of interested to see it, but boy does it look wacky and weird. Enjoy!
Here's the second trailer for Jamie Bradshaw & Aleksandr Dulerayn's Branded, originally via YouTube:
Set in a dystopian future where corporate brands have created a disillusioned population, one man's effort to unlock the truth behind the conspiracy will lead to an epic battle with hidden forces that control the world. Russian filmmakers Jamie Bradshaw and Aleksandr Dulerayn are making their feature debut writing & directing Branded, which stars Ed Stoppard, Leelee Sobieski, Jeffrey Tambor, Max von Sydow. Roadside Attractions will be releasing this in US theaters September 7th this year. Visit the official site. Anyone?

Highly intriguing. Certainly on my list. A movie of which the trailer offers nothing but questions. Hope they deliver when we get the answers.

Looks interesting but also way over the top. So mixed feelings about this one!

Mildly interested but the CGI looks a little cheap and cheesy, no? I mean, haven't they improved the look of those effects in recent years?

Certainly different. Sort of interested.... but it also looks like it could also be a huge dissapointment

Looks really daft and a bit crazy. I'm sure acid casualties and conspiracy theorists will love it. I mean c'mon, corporations controlling the planet? Ridiculous! }:-)

The idea would have been great for a storyline, content patch or expansion for The Secret World MMO, but as a movie? Hmm....
