The Dark Knight Rises TV Spot

Rise… It has begun! Warner Bros has kicked off their marketing surge to countdown the remaining two months left until Christopher Nolan's epic finale The Dark Knight Rises arrives in theaters in late July. Just last week we featured two of the first short, but exciting, TV spots for Nolan's TDKR, now we have one more that I just have to feature, mostly because of the style and Hans Zimmer's incredible score that builds and builds for 30 seconds. But, as Brad from RopeofSilicon reminds us, it's about "time to begin avoiding Dark Knight Rises TV spots" to save the truly epic, incredible experience for theaters. Watch it if you wish!

Watch the third newest official TV spot for The Dark Knight Rises, posted on YouTube:

Eight years after The Dark Knight, the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to the limits, forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent.

The Dark Knight Rises is once again directed by Oscar nominated British filmmaker Christopher Nolan, of Following, Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and Inception previously. The script was co-written by Christopher & Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige, The Dark Knight), from a story by Chris Nolan & David S. Goyer (of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight). Warner Bros is bringing The Dark Knight Rises to regular and IMAX theaters everywhere July 20th, 2012 this summer. The Legend Ends…

Am I the only one who hates that flying thing?! I just dont think it belongs in this universe. "this is not a car"...such a cheesy line (I know it is not from this spot). And the football scene looks way off as well. Other than that, looks awesome. And I am crazy about Bane's voice, sounds so f***ing iconic "I am gotham's reckoning"

Amen brother! ps - I wrote the same thing in another thread but they deleted it twice! ;P  This cheesy line reminds me of Batman Forever... "Is it about the car? Chicks love the car..." Oh God... Nolan WHY??? 0_o

I kind of agree, but I'm waiting to see the film before I pass final judgment. I agree the Bat as it's called looks silly doing flips in the air, but seeing as how the bat pod erupted from the carcus of the tumbler, a flying machine doesn't seem as crazy as I once thought. I just hope it's used in realistic terms, and th flipping and crazy movements are just a mere trailer gimmick and not a part of some pure sky battle that bridges on pure comic book. The line did ruin the final trailers tone, but I forgive it because Dark Knight had it's moments. Shumacher made a mockery of the bat, but that doesn't mean those moments can't exist without coming off as pure stupidity. It does stray into the realm of cheese, but as I said, some lines in Dark Knight were no different. As long as this film is plagued by those moments, I can forgive them.

BB and TDK have their cheesy car jokes as well. "Nice ride." "I've got to get me one of those." And that Lambo/Batpod in the middle of the day not being subtle line from Alfred.

I'm fine with The Bat.  It's a natural evolution, and a staple in the Batman universe to have a flying machine.  After all, the bat is a creature of flight.  Why should The Batman be any different?

Why? Because it looks just stupid from my point of view... Othervise the rest of the footage looks awesome!

I remember the first official Batman Begins pics and they revealed the Tumbler. Oh boy was there a backlash and negative comments calling it fugly. Yet, that thing blew people's mind during the police chase. The Bat will do the same.

You are right. I hope it will turn out this way:)

Looks awesome...except that Bale lost some serious muscle. Maybe not being Batman for awhile induces muscle loss.

It looks like Warner doesn't have that much footage too choose from with their marketing... that TV-spot did not get me excited...

More of a case I think of them trying to save the best for the movie, without giving away all the best bits in the trailer

Exactly this. The Avengers trailers/spots showed a lot of the final fight...

I remember reading that Nolan screened Blade Runner for the cast while making the first one...The Bat looks like a modified Spinner from that iconic movie...
