Back in November we featured a retrospective of the films of Tim Burton from Kees van Dijkhuizen's director series, but French animator and graphic designer Martin Woutisseth has gone the extra mile with a new tribute to the director of films like Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice and this year's Dark Shadows and the forthcoming Frankenweenie. Woutisseth has crafted an animated tribute to Burton with Tim Burton: A Filmography, and his work, which was put together for a La Cinematheque Francaise contest is rather impressive. Each film is given its due diligence with a charming animated title card. Watch!
Here's Martin Woutisseth's Tim Burton: A Filmography which was highlighted by SlashFilm:
For fans wondering why Dark Shadows wasn't included, apparently there was a time limit for the contest, and including the title would have made it too long. Woutisseth has posted a translated statement (so it's a little rough) saying: One of the most big challenge was to stayed sober in the animation without to seems poorly animated. Three months was necessary to made it. Most of the time was spent to find the perfect visual for each movies. The thing was to make the fans of each movies enjoyed their favorite one." You get what he's saying, and the result speaks for itself. For a visual breakdown, check out Woutisseth's site. Cool?

A bit too clean for me sadly. Great use of illustrator and after effects though.
