Fans at Comic-Con were treated to some great footage for Tim Burton's new stop-motion animated film Frankenweenie, an adaptation of his original short film from decades ago. So far the trailers have already promised a return to form for Tim Burton, and the footage shown in Hall H was nothing different, and only inspired more confidence in the film, in my opinion. And one of the great convincing moments came in the form of a new trailer that plays like an old school horror film from the days of The Mummy and The Creature from the Black Lagoon. Thankfully, Disney has just thrown this trailer online. Watch it below!
Here's the new retro trailer for Tim Burton's Frankenweenie straight from Disney's YouTube:
Young Victor (Charlie Tahan) conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life, only to face unintended, sometimes monstrous, consequences. Based on Burton's original 1984 B&W short.
Frankenweenie was directed by mastermind Tim Burton, who's brought us Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Big Fish, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd and The Nightmare Before Christmas previously. The screenplay was written by John August (Go, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, The Nines) from a story by Tim Burton & Leonard Ripps. Disney is bringing Frankenweenie to theaters everywhere in 3D starting on October 5th later this year. Watch the first teaser trailer here.
