I Am Not a Hipster Trailer

Want an early look at one of my favorite films of Sundance and one of the most buzzed about flicks here? Here's the trailer for Destin Cretton's I Am Not a Hipster, starring Dominic Bogart as Brook, which I saw last week and completely loved. While this trailer has been out for a few months (via SlashFilm), we're just featuring it today as it's one film from this fest that I can't get out of my mind and one that I hope goes far after as well. I think this trailer does a good job of introducing you to Brook, the music, and feeling of the film, and I highly recommend catching it whenever it does get released. I'll be keeping a close watch on this!

Watch the first official trailer for Destin Daniel Cretton's I Am Not a Hipster, via Vimeo:

How does that look? Description from the Sundance guide: "Things are not looking good for Brook, a young, talented singer/songwriter who has become the clichéd tortured artist. Slow to come to terms with the death of his mother, Brook is self-absorbed, aggressive, and the major obstruction to his own career success. His isolation is lifted when his three sisters and estranged father come to spread his mother’s ashes. Brook’s loving sisters have a magical effect on his anger and apathy, suggesting there may be hope for the misanthropic musician after all." Destin Daniel Cretton's I Am Not a Hipster just premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival (my review) and is currently looking for a distributor. Visit the film's official site.

The trailer just showed me how much of a hipster you are. Won't be seeing this.

Are you referring to ME? I could not be farther from a hipster. I would be fine if you called me a geek or nerd though, that's a much more fitting description. But if you're referring to the trailer, it's great despite the "hipsterish" nature of the title and what's in this. So be it!

<3 And your comment just showed me how much feces you drink. Though I've not set the stage for a polite reply, I'm curious, what movies are you into? Just rattle off like 4 or 5. Just so I can get a better perspective. So amped to find out what a snobby, bloody cum rag like you enjoys.

"Hipsters are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20's and 30's that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter." So what's wrong with hipsters. I wouldn't call myself one, but somehow people are on this kick that it's a bad thing. How about this? Who gives a shit?

I for one chuckle at the phrase, somebody always has to have an issue with somebody else...all the time.

Every frame of this is "hipster". It looks good though. Musically speaking, it sounds a lot like David Bazan, which is fantastic.
