Chronicle Teaser

"Andrew is out of control!" I was worried something like this would happen, but don't fret, you can just skip it entirely. Fox has posted one final "teaser" for Josh Trank's Chronicle, the found-footage superpowers film, which hits theaters this weekend. I've seen it and I can tell you it's awesome, I loved it, but this trailer shows a little too much from it. There's obviously a lot more to the movie, but it also reveals some of the bigger, better, awesome moments, and that's just too much to see before going to experience it in theaters. That said, you can watch it if you wish, because it's still a great movie worth seeing in its entirety anyway.

Here's the final official teaser for Josh Trank & Max Landis' Chronicle, via YouTube:

Three high school student friends gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Soon, though, they find their lives begin to spin out of control and their bonds tested as they embrace their darker sides.

Chronicle is directed by first-time feature filmmaker Josh Trank, of a few episodes of "The Kill Point" TV series. The project was conceived by Trank and Max Landis, son of filmmaker John Landis, both credited for the story, but only Max for the screenplay. 20th Century Fox produced and is releasing Chronicle in theaters everywhere on February 3rd starting this weekend. What are you capable of? Watch the first trailer here.

Saw the press screening last night. I'll spare you my review right now but there's a lot of shaky camera (see Cloverfield) so bring Tylenol if you get motion sick.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Melding two played-out genres (superhero & found-footage) isn't a good idea.

2 played out genres lol both genres continue to make money

True, yet both are showing early signs of fatigue at the box office. A studio never aims for the end of the trend.

Any one else get an "Akria" vibe from the last part of this?

Yea, I'll even say that's certainly the case, but that's a good thing... This is going to be the "live-action" Akira movie we didn't know we all wanted.

It seems more like it was inspired by Akira.

Just got home from watching it. Dunno why, but it reminded me of Cloverfield meets Hancock?

Considering the current rumours/plans for Hollywood's Akira, I'm all for it for being "ripped off" for this movie. I'm stoked, can't wait to see it!

I've actually noticed that the black guy dies first trend has died down a lot.

I strongly disagree! Especially in movies like these! Thank God for movies like Attack the Block, but oh, that wasn't a hollywood movie was it?

SPOLIER ALERT! actually the black guy dies first 😀

I wish the plot was more polished and mature, all the details like driving the antihero to his rise for example. It felt stale with cliches repeating. Since the execution was really refreshing.
