"That's right. Motherf**ing space Nazis in a film called Iron Sky." That's basically all you need to know to get pumped for this film that has been in development for years now. We last saw a trailer for the film in May of 2011, and while the film doesn't yet have a U.S. distributor, as the director Timo Vuorensola says in this new half-featurette, half-trailer, the film will premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 11th this year. I hope this makes it over to the U.S. because it looks like an awesome mix of Grindhouse and Starship Troopers, especially with the over-the-top voiceover all over the trailer. Watch!
Watch the Berlinale festival teaser trailer for Timo Vuorensola's Iron Sky, from YouTube:
The Nazis set up a secret moon base in 1945 where they hide out and plan a return to power in 2018.
Iron Sky is directed by Finnish filmmaker Timo Vuorensola, of only Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, and who is also the lead singer in Finnish black metal band Älymystö. The screenplay for this was written by Johanna Sinisalo and is based on a story by Antti Hukkanen & Jarmo Puskala. They finally amassed enough money to shoot this in Finland and are currently in post-production. Visit the official website for more! The film will premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 11th, but there's no U.S. release date.

@2:02, looks like Sarah Palin. This movie might as well be "Attack of the Tea Party"

DUH! The Tea Party consider themselves to be Republicans and oppose what Obama is trying to do. They are abusive, derogatory and even racists. Enough said!

it makes no sense because this is a MOVIE site - comments should be on MOVIES - NOT on your own twisted political rhetoric. i couldn't care less about your political views. why not try staying on topic.

Haha will be seeing this. Though their choice of opening venues? I know that it may seem appropriate, but I also know of a few German students who do not even like to speak about the Nazi regime in their country's history. Not that you should feign away from raising a little fervor or upsetting someone just to be politically correct all the time, but this is an especially sensitive subject for some...

I was thinking the same thing and laughing at the choice of venue, but just like South Park pointed out that there is an expiration date when you can start making jokes about horrible events.

About damn time! I was starting to think I'd never hear about this again. Been waiting for any info since the trailer last year. Cannot wait!

Well if we couldn't get Worst Case Scenario, this could certainly make up for it. Been waiting awhile and it looks like it may be worth the wait.

I think I expected this movie to look more B quality. This actually looks pretty cool and funny. Udo Kier playing with models got a chuckle outta me. haha

Can't wait to see the movie in the local theatre. Also: Who the fuck came up with the idea of calling Älymystö "black metal"? They're pure industrial/ambient with a heavily psychedelic note (If you throw BM into the mix, though, you get Oranssi Pazuzu, which are just as awesome).

Definitely going to see this. I hope I can get tickets to the screening tour they're doing here in Finland, would be nice to meet the makers too. 🙂

It does look pretty funny. It is against the law to display Swastika's anywhere in Germany though, so it might be a bit tough putting up posters. Berlin is pretty liberal these days, it's a decent place for beers and partying. Just don't mention the war.
