Briefly: New release dates have been set by Hollywood studios for a number of upcoming films. Though we first heard hints at CinemaCon last week about 21 Jump Street 2 getting a 2014 release, Sony Pictures has now officially set a June 6th, 2014 summer release. In addition, they scheduled their other sequel Think Like A Man Too on June 20th, 2014; and the Jason Segel/Cameron Diaz comedy Sex Tape for July 2nd, 2014, to round out their summer after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 kick things off in early May. Paramount also scheduled a few of their movies including Alexander Payne's next film Nebraska for later in the season.
The updated release date reports are from Deadline, where they've also learned that Paramount Pictures has finally set an initial release date for Nebraska, the upcoming B&W Alexander Payne (who won Oscars for The Descendants and Sideways) film starring Bruce Dern, Will Forte, Stacy Keach and Bob Odenkirk. It will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, then hit limited theaters starting November 22nd, 2013 - obviously for Oscar season. They've also scheduled their Platinum Dunes sci-fi Almanac, a found footage time travel thriller, for February 21st, 2014 - which should be the perfect spot for this secret sleeper hit to explode in. The new 21 Jump Street sequel is now scheduled against the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in June, but Dean Israelite's Almanac is free and clear on its own on the 21st so far. As always, check in for updates.

Very much looking forward to Nebraska. When I heard it was in B&W I was even more excited!
