Aaron Eckhart Gets Gritty on New 'I, Frankenstein' Motion Poster
by Ethan Anderton
May 13, 2013
Just last month we learned that Lionsgate was bringing their adaptation of I, Frankenstein, the graphic novel by Kevin Grievioux, to theaters in January of 2014, and now the promotional campaign begins this summer with a motion poster. Aaron Eckhart is front and center as a contemporary Frankenstein monster now living in a dark, gothic metropolis who finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans. The story is set in a dystopic present where gargoyles and demons battle for supremacy. With a January release, we're not expecting much, but at least this story sounds somewhat original. Look!
Here's the motion poster for Stuart Beattie's I, Frankenstein from IGN:
Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality. Written for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie (writer of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra), I, Frankenstein is based on the graphic novel by Kevin Grievous, and also stars Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young. Lionsgate is bringing the film to theaters in 3D everywhere on January 24th, 2014. Sound good?

Crap, I thought this would be dark horror, not PG-13 Van Helsing-like film where carriages explode for no reason.

stupidest motion poster I've seen so far, the motion serves no purpose and recycles out of place.

This was more like a 'lenticular' poster. Not sure if man has pioneered the motion poster yet, but I think having a gif in a perfect loop is the answer to all our questions and dreams.

I wonder if Eckhart has it written into his contract that he must only show one side of his face at any given time.

"...but at least this story sounds somewhat original." Err no. The Underworld movies had pretty much the same story. And every other clans/two worlds fighting each other over supremacy.
