Following the conclusion of "Breaking Bad," actor Aaron Paul has the action thriller Need for Speed coming early next year, but the most recent theatrical trailer showed the film looks pretty cheesy. But maybe a drama with some heavy-hitting actors will get him back on track. Variety reports Paul will be reunited with "Big Love" co-star and love interest Amanda Seyfried in Fathers & Daughters, a new film from director Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness, Seven Pounds). The film follows a father (Russell Crowe) and daughter (Seyfried) who live in Manhattan 25 years apart. Jumping back and forth from the 1980s to present day, we follow each of their lives, seeing how the former years have affected the present. Read on!
In the film, Paul will playing Seyfried's love interest again, and there's bound to be some struggles as Crowe plays her father, a widower with a mental illness, trying to raise a five-year old daughter, which creates a troubled childhood that leaves some scars 25 years later. The script by Brad Desch was featured on the Black List, so hopefully this is the kind of project that will let Paul shine as an actor, much like his work on the Sundance selected indie Smashed with Mary Elizabeth Winstead. It remains to be seen how Paul's career will continue following his popular turn on "Breaking Bad," but he has plenty of room to blossom.
