"We're talking vehicular warfare!" Hot on the heels of yesterday's poster for Fast & Furious 6, the first TV spot/trailer was unveiled during the Super Bowl today. Now we finally have some plot details involving the return of Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) teased at the end of Fast Five, we see that Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) are on the run around the world, with no hope of returning home. But Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) has a lucrative proposal for the crew if they agree to help him take down a British criminal mastermind who is employing a familiar face as his second-in-command. This looks so awesome!
Watch the very first Super Bowl TV spot for Justin Lin's Fast & Furious 6, debuted via YouTube:
Since Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian’s (Paul Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have are on the lam around the world. Meanwhile, Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Luke Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Now, with full pardons and the chance at returning home on the line, Dom and his crew team up with the right side of the law to stop these criminals at street level in London. Justin Lin directs Fast & Furious 6 written by Chris Morgan. Universal will release in theaters May 24th.

O wow, say whatever you want about the furious franchise but after Fast 5, I have all the faith in the world Justin Lin will deliver on this again. The guy just knows awesome creative action, and thats all you should expect from Fast and the furious.

This will be good I'm sure. Hopefully the Letty reveal won't be too far fetched...the only far fetched things allowed are over the top car stunts.

4 5 and 6 seem to be the 'trilogy' here.

The Fast and the Furious 2 Fast 2 Furious The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift Fast & Furious Fast Five Fast & Furious 6 What the fuck, Universal? Learn to name sequels.

exclude 2 Fast...just exclude it.

Well I was calling attention to their inability to name their movies properly. However 2 Fast was at least pretty damn funny. Tokyo Drift had all the worst acting though (apart from Han), and that's saying something.

I know. The listing of the movies is awful. I only call The Fast and the Furious, Fast and Furious, Fast 5 as canon...the others not so much.

Oh? I guess they're the most grounded, and the least outrageous. I like 2/3 the least, but I'd still watch em again any time.

They have the best everything from the franchise.

I think 2 had the worst acting. Paul Walker was a whole lot better in 4 and onwards. And Tyrese was way less annoying in Fast Five.

There's anyone worse than the lead guy in TD? I dunno man!

Pretty much the entire cast of 2Fast 2Furious. Granted that they have gotten better but that movie was pure feces.

Yeah it's messed up cause Fast Five is actually Fast Four and Fast and Furious 6 is actually the 5th and Tokyo Drift is the last chronological one, so it's like wth!? ,great trailer though!

A friend of mine pointed out something interesting, that it would be odd if 4/5/6 had car models from like, 2013. If TD takes place at the end, it should have the latest cars, yeah? Unless all the drifters in Tokyo are into models from years in the past, and it takes place in the future.

The amusing thing about this is that drifters in Japan actually DO tend to prefer older, simpler cars. You still see cars from the 80s and 90s in D1professional competition even now.

Then we're set, paradox resolved! Perfect one for taking place at the end.
OfficialJab on Feb 4, 2013
24
Well the paradox has been solved, Doc. Brown from Back to the Future would be proud!

Apart from that, this looks great, and I'm glad Han is still in it.

Looks, er, a little far-fetched. I liked the smaller more believable first movie scenario.

fast five was awesome, I was upset when my boyfriend wanted to see this on his birthday since after Tokyo drift I just kinda lost it and I don;t know why, love japan love fast and furious franchise maybe it was bow wow? Fast five brought me back and so I'll pay to see this. It's ridiculous and fun yet they take themselves seriously and I like it. names with more than three movies to them have turned to absolute rubbish- they no longer try so as good as the movies are for 6 films deep I think says something
