'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Hits Times Square on NYE + IMAX 3D Release

Briefly: Following last week's debut of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer, we have the unsurprising news that the film will be hitting IMAX 3D screens next summer. The film will hit screens internationally starting on April 16th, 2014 and then theaters in the United States on May 2nd, 2014. But that's not all. Columbia Pictures just announced that Spidey has been named the “Official Super Hero of Times Square 2014," and while it's mostly just publicity bullshit, the webslinging superhero will be on top of the Times Square Ball Drop on New Year's Eve in New York City. In addition, there will be footage from the film showing on the screens in Times Square. Spidey is a New York native after all, so it just makes perfect sense.
