Anna Kendrick & Craig Robinson in Red Band 'Rapturepalooza' Trailer

The Rapture is a Biblical prophesy in which Jesus Christ returns to Earth to take all of His followers into heaven, leaving unbelievers behind in an apocalyptic wasteland as the Antichrist tries to take over the world. It's been featured in a few films already, most famously the Left Behind series (which is getting a reboot starring Nicolas Cage), but now it looks like the religious event is going to be fodder for a comedy, as a red band trailer for Rapturepalooza has surfaced online, starring Anna Kendrick, John Francis Daley, and Craig Robinson as the Antichrist. It looks like the worst end of days comedy coming this year. Watch?

Here's the red band trailer for Raturepalooza, courtesy of IGN:

Rapturepalooza is directed by Paul Middleditch (Separation City) and written by Chris Matheson (Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure). The story follows a young couple (Anna Kendrick of Up in the Air and John Francis Daley of "Bones") who experience the Rapture, meet the Antichrist (Craig Robinson), and seek to destroy him. The film also features comedians like Rob Corddry, Ken Jeong, Ana Gasteyer, Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, Jesse Camacho and more. Lionsgate releases the film in theaters sometime in 2013. Funny?

Hollywood makes fun of Christians = Keeeeewwlll. Hollywood makes fun of Muslims... Oh wait...

Zeeshopper on Mar 5, 2013

They don't make fun of Muslims because they're too busy filling villain roles with them. Christians, on the other hand, have films from Aronofsky and Spielberg coming out next year so don't act victimized.

Matt Peloquin on Mar 5, 2013

I don't act victimized at all and I'm not offended by the movie trailer (which sucks and which I won't go see). It's just that it's been a trend those past few years all over the internet, movies and such to bash Christians for whatever reason. From the same people who are against bullying but it's ok when it's about bullying Christians. Go figure. Anyways, I remember that the guy who made that video about Muhammad is in prison because he supposedly created the Benghazi chaos (which is totally BS). So that's the point I was making. Nobody has the balls to make a movie about mocking Muslims because they will either go to jail or they will have their head cut off. Make a movie mocking Christians and nobody will get hurt. Hollywood doesn't seem to care that a lot of Christians (like me) are also movie goers and will certainly not pay a dime for that kind of crap.

He's in prison because he violated his parole. Don't just make stuff up.

Audioout on Mar 5, 2013

Of course! How convenient that he violated his parole! Especially when Clinton promised that they will catch and arrest the guy who made that video before knowing that he violated his parole.

Zeeshopper on Mar 6, 2013

Somewhere Jesus and Muhammad are laughing about all of this and swapping beard trimming tips. I bet Muhammad makes fun of Jesus for being so pale looking in his portraits.

Carpola on Mar 6, 2013

Wow that was hilarious dude!!!1!!1!1 I was laughing so hard for at least an hour non stop. Way funnier than that piece of crap trailer. Maybe you could write its sequel? Or a reboot?

Zeeshopper on Mar 6, 2013

Yes! Those so-called "Christians" should be exposed as clowns! Yep! I remember there was supposed to be a real "rapture" almost 2 years ago claimed by some evangelist and that never happen. ahhh ha ha ha haaa! What a joke!

The Truth on Mar 5, 2013

There is as much as false prophets than there are fake politicians. I can also say the same about global warming (what a joke as well!) and all that other crap that people believe because so called intellectuals said so.

Zeeshopper on Mar 5, 2013

"so called intellectuals" mean scientists. As in, almost all of them...

Audioout on Mar 5, 2013

Look, I'm not a science denier but nobody is perfect. It's been proven that they fudged the numbers to make global warming looks like it's man made. The point I was making is that being an intellectual does not mean flawless.

Zeeshopper on Mar 6, 2013

This looks horrible.

Nielsen700 on Mar 5, 2013

This looks really really terrible.

Audioout on Mar 5, 2013

Muslims, Christians, who cares? To me they all believe in silly nonsens. This movie craps on that and I like it.

Joe on Mar 6, 2013

It's all beard worship Joe, just different beardy dudes. 🙂

Carpola on Mar 6, 2013

Exactly my point!
