With the blockbuster Pacific Rim just a season away from release, director Guillermo del Toro is assembling the cast for his next project set up at Legendary Pictures. Crimson Peak is a haunted house horror thriller with Emma Stone and Charlie Hunnam already on board to star, but a new cast member has emerged that will make "Sherlock" fans very happy. Variety has word that Benedict Cumberbatch is now set to star in the film though details on his character and the plot remain shrouded in mystery. But before you get your hopes up, this film won't be shooting until February 2014, and we may not see it until 2015. More below!
Cumberbatch has quickly become one of the busiest and most sought after actors working today. This summer we'll see him take on the crew of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek Into Darkness, and he also stars in 12 Years a Slave from Shame director Steve McQueen, August: Osage County and has two roles in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. And let's not forget that he's shooting the WikiLeaks movies The Fifth Estate as Julian Assange and has another season of "Sherlock" on the way. This is a great addition to del Toro's horror film, and we can't wait to hear more.
