Hot on the heels of that spectacular third and final trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness, the film's villain now takes the spotlight in a short new promo featuring the menacing voice of Benedict Cumberbatch as John Harrison. Seemingly taking a cue from General Zod's threat to Earth for Man of Steel (albeit with much less scrambled video), the promo basically acts as an vague exposition laden taunt to Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) and the rest of the crew of the USS Enterprise. We're getting the strong inkling that maybe not everyone is going to make it out of this vengeful mission alive, but we'll find out next month. Watch!
Here's the new promo for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness, originally from Yahoo UK:
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated everything the fleet stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a "one man weapon of mass destruction."
Star Trek Into Darkness is the sequel to the J.J. Abrams-directed reboot of Gene Roddenberry's original science fiction series. The screenplay this time was co-written by Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman & Damon Lindelof. Most of the crew is back, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin & John Cho. Paramount is bringing Into Darkness to theaters May 17th this summer.

Pike is going to bite the bullet....thats why his one liners resonate through the third trailer. His death will propel kirk to find harrison, springing the trap that will destroy the enterprise.

I know!... Can you imagine having him ask for a refill of coffee at breakfast? I'd be too freaked to pour safely. Yiiii. Really erotic, though, I think most of my female friends would agree. And maybe the guys too? His voice has been described as a jaguar hiding inside a cello. Talk to me, Ben.

Even though he has a wonderful menacing voice, his face doesn't do really for me as a villain. They should have done more to alter his face and maybe bulk him up too.

With the "Chocolate dipped sex" of a voice in 3D sound and those eyes...and that every inch of him....I can foresee lots of wobbly legged people leaving the theater... 😉
