Bradley Cooper Replaces Jude Law as Western 'Jane Got a Gun' Villain

Following the sudden exit of director Lynne Ramsay on the first day of production of the western Jane Got a Gun, actor Jude Law also left the project as the film's villain since he joined mostly because he wanted to work with the We Need to Talk About Kevin helmer. But now Warrior director Gavin O'Connor has taken over the production, reuniting him with Joel Edgerton, and there's a replacement for Law now too. Deadline has word that Bradley Cooper will take the villain role in the story about a woman (Natalie Portman) whose outlaw husband returns home barely clinging to life and riddled with bullet wounds. More below!
Her husband's lethal wounds force her to reach out to an ex-lover (Edgerton) to help defend her farm when her husband’s gang (led by Jude Law) tracks him down to finish the job. Sounds like a cool role for Cooper, especially following his romantic and heroic roles recently. We'll be seeing plenty of Cooper over the next couple years, including The Hangover Part III later this summer (with a new trailer coming this week), not to mention his reunion with director David O. Russell in his Abscam drama that also stars Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner and his Silver Linings Playbook star Jennifer Lawrence. Stay tuned.

Neat. Like him. Thank you for changing the Star Wars poster on the right. I like this one much better.

Is this movie going to feature Aerosmith's "Janie's got a gun," or is that too on the nose with the film's title?

I (Daryn) asked Bradley Cooper a question when he chatted live on the Empire chatroom couple of years ago about whether he would like to act in a western and he said he would love to one day so he finally got his wish.
