Briefly: We've been following casting and development on Brad Bird's next sci-fi movie Tomorrowland, involving the futuristic area in Disneyland and a supposed alternate dimension. Originally titled 1952, Bird has been casting and working on pre-production in order to start shooting later this year. George Clooney is already set to star, and Hugh Laurie will play the villain. Disney has just announced that young blonde actress Britt Robertson (seen in Scream 4, The First Time, and on "Under the Dome") has scored the lead role. She plays a high school girl with an unconventional understanding of technology who's launched on a journey to reclaim her future. Other plot details are still being kept under wraps, so stay tuned for updates.

Lead role? Or the 'female lead role'? I thought George Clooney was the 'lead'/'star' of the film?

I'm really looking forward to this. Brad's really proven himself, and I think this will be a great testimony to his skill as a director.

I remember her from Dan in Real Life. Glad to see she's making a name for herself.
