"Everything can be bought and sold. Even you." Well, this looks strange. Indie darling Parker Posey joins forces with Star Trek actor Bruce Greenwood for this little strange comedic drama called And Now a Word from Our Sponsor. As you might be able to guess from the title, the story takes place in the world of advertising where the CEO of a major advertising company (Greenwood) who has disappeared, but is discovered in a hospital by a charity foundation head (Posey). The catch? He's only speaking in advertising slogans, and his company's board wants him declared incapacitated so he can be thrown overboard. The trailer feels like a commercial for all commercials with some vague hint of an indie movie in there. Watch?
Here's the first trailer for Zack Bernbaum's And Now a Word from Our Sponsor, via Apple:
Adan Kundle, CEO of a major advertising agency, is discovered unconscious in front of a wall of TVs. When he wakes in the hospital, Adan can only communicate through advertising slogans. There he meets Karen Hillridge, the hospital’s Head of Charity Foundation, who has a past history with Adan and takes him back to her home to help him recover. Through his advertising taglines, Adan starts to affect a troubled mother-daughter relationship, but may be putting his company in jeopardy as his antagonistic business partner tries to take over the agency. Zack Bernbaum makes his feature directorial debut with a script from Michael Hamilton-Wright (The Dogfather) And Now a Word from Our Sponsor which arrives May 10th, 2013.
