Briefly: Last week, X-Men fans were hit the shocking but incredible news that 20th Century Fox was releasing X-Men: Apocalypse to theaters in May of 2016. The film will be a direct sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past, and it sounds like it might also feature cast members from the original X-Men franchise and X-Men: First Class again. In addition, for anyone interested in spoiling the credits bumper that reveals Apocalypse we've got the exclusive scoop right here. But what we've been wondering is whether Bryan Singer will actually direct the sequel or just produce this time. Now Vulture has learned that Singer will definitely direct the film as his next project. Sounds good to us as long as Days of Future Past is up to snuff.

After Jack The Giant Slayer and Superman Returns, my faith in Singer is shaken. Hopefully these X-Men movies are a return to form.

If Singer can pull off the Sentinels then I have hopes he can pull off Apocalypse so I'll hold judgment until Days Of Future Past is released.

Same here, but weren't people put off by the first production shot of the Sentinels? I hope they're great too.

I concur, but i have very little faith in Singer after being disappointed with the actor choice and poor writing and story lines with the first two X-mens and also what he brought to Superman, so with that said, it makes me very uneasy to know that he will bring Apocalypse to the big screen as he is one of my top 3 favorite villains. It would be heartbreaking to see him not live up to his full comic book character potential.

If Apocalypse is featured, Cyclops & Jean Grey MUST be brought back. They are the most essential along with Sinister in a story concerning the most ancient and dangerous mutant, for their bloods mixed produced a genetically superior mutant called Cable who proved to be Apocalypse's greatest threat. Don't screw up, Singer.
