After debuting an awesome poster for Die Hard as part of the Mondo Mystery Movie program, another modern holiday classic is getting the same treatment from the collectible arthouse. Adam Simpson has delivered an awesome poster for Home Alone, the Chris Columbus directed holiday comedy that made a star out of Macaulay Culkin, and turned Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci into some of the worst thieves of all-time. The poster went on sale yesterday, so you'll have to hit eBay if you're desperate, but it's so damn cool that we wanted to highlight it. It captures the spirit of the movie, and lays out all the cool traps. Look!
I love the surreal MC Escher-esque layout of the McCallister house with Harry and Marv getting caught up in all of Kevin's traps. From the paint cans to the Micro Machines and the other various things the Wet Bandits step on, everything is here. Simpson's poster is a 24"x36" screen print in an edition of 325, and while it cost $45 from Mondo, the current sales on eBay seem to be around $75 and higher, so good luck grabbing one of these. Such a fantastic print, Mondo always delivers must-have artwork. Who needs this?
