Chevy Chase Back in 'Hot Tub Time Machine 2' & Gillian Jacobs Joins

Troubling news came from the production of the reboot of Vacation this past April with creative differences delaying the comedy starring Ed Helms. But that doesn't mean Chevy Chase won't have work this year. Deadline has word that the "Saturday Night Live" veteran will reprise his role as a hot tub repairman in Hot Tub Time Machine 2. The role was small in the original comedy from director Steve Pink (who is returning for the sequel), but it could possibly be expanded. In addition, Chase will have a "Community" reunion as actress Gillian Jacobs is taking the female lead on the presumably R-rated comedy. Read on!
There are still no plot details on the time traveling sequel, so we're not sure if we'll go back to the 80s again or if Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke, with their new leading man Adam Scott, may head into the future this time. This has the potential to become a continuing, raunchy Back to the Future-esque franchise, and that sounds fun. We're not sure when the sequel will go into production, but it's a safe bet we'll see this film sometime in 2014 if the cast is firming up this quickly. Let's hope this time around Chase is given a little more to do than provide exposition about the time machine.

I liked the first one more than I thought I would. That said, I'm not sure a sequel is really needed.
