Chris Nolan's Sci-Fi 'Interstellar' Scheduled to Arrive November 2014

Just last week we learned that cinematographer Wally Pfister's sci-fi directorial debut Transcendence would be arriving in April of 2014, now we've learned that Christopher Nolan will follow-up later that year with his new sci-fi film Interstellar. Deadline released an official memo today confirming that Interstellar is a co-production between Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros, an unprecedented studio deal rare for these days. Included in that note is mention of a November 7th, 2014 release date for Interstellar, in both regular and IMAX theaters worldwide. A new Chris Nolan science fiction movie next year? Oh holy crap yes!
Brad Grey, Chairman and CEO of Paramount, said: "As a filmmaker and storyteller, Chris has continuously entertained the world with his extraordinary and unparalleled talents. I am pleased beyond measure to welcome him to the Paramount Pictures family. Partnering with Chris, Emma, Lynda and Warner Bros. to release this original idea next November is the perfect way to start the Thanksgiving and holiday movie season for audiences around the world." Can't wait for November 2014 already, one of my most anticipated.
Sounds like Paramount wanted to get in the mix with Nolan, since he's a big box office draw. Legendary Pictures is not involved with this, and Nolan is developing from a screenplay by his brother Jonathan Nolan, at both Paramount & Warner Bros. Paramount will be the studio distributing in the US. Exact plot details for Interstellar are hard to get at the moment, but it's based in scientific theories by Caltech astrophysicist Kip Thorne that involve time travel, alternative dimensions and wormholes. Today's note does add this bit: "The film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding."

So that's that for the Bond 24 possibility, huh? Fine with me, this will unquestionably be a great movie.

The last time Paramount & WB teamed up they made The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The 2 of them should merge.

Film is definitely subjective, but financially and critically that film was a failure. I did appreciate the effects work though.

I think 3D can be amazing when done right, but I think if anything, we could expect Nolan to opt for shooting a higher portion of the film in the IMAX format. Could you imagine if the entire thing was shot with IMAX cameras?

No, he said on an interview that 3D is still very "green" and only will consider do one in 3D when the 3D glasses are out of the equation.

Fingers crossed that this is something equivalent to Christopher Nolan's "2001: A Space Odyssey"...I've wanted him to make a space film for YEARS
