Comic-Con 2013: New Red Band 'Riddick' Trailer Slices, Dices & Cuts
by Ethan Anderton
July 19, 2013
With a tease of some big news coming at the end of the month involving Vin Diesel and Marvel, the Comic-Con panel for Riddick brought some new intense footage from the sci-fi sequel. In fact, the footage is actually a new 3-minute red band trailer with plenty of good kills and some pretty crazy, bloody slices. It basically acts as an extended and more violent version of the more recent trailer with Diesel chained up as the alien threat moves in on this small base, but it's pretty bad ass. Diesel not only contends with his captors but a whole slew of creatures in what might be the most action-packed Riddick chapter yet. Watch below!
Here's the new red band trailer for David Twohy's Riddick from the film's YouTube channel:
Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick director David Twohy returns to write and direct Riddick. Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction. Universal is releasing Riddick everywhere on September 6th this fall.

Seems the acting from the supporting cast is gonna be the weakest part of the film...but who cares! Its Riddick!

Agreed, but I did like the line, "Yeeeaaaahhh...let's cut him loose." Looks visually appealing too.

"Yeeeah lets cut him loose........so he can betray and kill the rest of us off 1 by 1 and then jack our shit" How does cutting him loose seem wise after he just killed your friend?

True dat, but it's just a movie. I learned long ago people in sci-fi movies (or horror movies for that matter) don't have common sense. But what do I know, I've never lived on a desert planet inhabited by beast that kill.

Not cutting him loose will get them killed anyway in a matter of seconds. So setting free the only guy who seems to be capable of understanding and beating these monsters, yes, that would make sense to me...

why did they just show that entire scene including who died? That's dumb

So essentially, it's Pitch Black with the crazy kills and quips of Chronicles? Cause if it is...I have no problem with that either.

Well, they tried something else and failed miserably.. So now instead of leaving it alone or trying something new yet again, they just did a remake.. I'm still in, looks like a fun stupid sci fi horror movie with a cool character

Bautista! Looks like a fun movie, unless you are a movie geek that picks apart every single movie that comes out, like a movie is going to change the entire world!

Sorry, but as much as I want this to be good, it looks fucking lame. The director of the original is back but without an original idea...this is a complete rehash of Pitch Black...and did anyone else catch the blatant copying of the original Predator firing bullets into the jungle scene? Lame.
