The Way Way Back

The limited release of The Way Way Back is just around the corner the weekend following July 4th. If you haven't seen the trailer for the hit Sundance comedy, make sure you check it out. With a cast that includes Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, Sam Rockwell and more supporting the young lead Liam James, as he stumbles upon the greatest summer of his life while on a trip with his mother (Collette) and prickish potential step-father (Carell). Now co-directors and co-writers Nat Faxon and Jim Rash team up to test out the latter's co-workers like Joel McHale and Danny Pudi from the NBC comedy series "Community" to audition for the film. And Will Forte also pops in to try out for a role too. Watch!

Here's the casting sessions for Nat Faxon & Jim Rash's The Way Way Back from Fox Searchlight:

The Way, Way Back is written and directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (The Descendants). The film follows the coming-of-age story of 14-year-old Duncan's (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend (Steve Carell), and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up and begins to find his place in the world. Fox Searchlight releases the film this summer July 5th. Good?
