Darren Aronofsky's Biblical Epic 'Noah' Not Moving to Summer Release

Noah

Briefly: After some gorgeous photography from the set of Noah appeared (and was quickly ordered to be taken down), we have some disappointing but not all that surprising news regarding Darren Aronofsky's Biblical epic Noah starring Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Hopkins Considering we haven't seen an official first look photo or even a teaser trailer for the film, we wondered when Paramount Pictures might start the hype machine for the film. Now it won't be until a little later since the studio just announced that they've shifted the film from the March 28, 2014 release date to summer 2014. We've confirmed this is NOT the case any more - it will still be out in March.

UPDATE: Apparently some misinformation circulated online as Paramount Pictures says the film has not been delayed to a summer release. The March 28, 2014 is supposedly still accurate (for now). Carry on.

Hmm...I think a release date shift would ACTUALLY be a good thing. As it stands now, Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens the very next weekend...that's pretty thick competition.

I'd forgotten about this movie, apart from that location photo. It's based on a true story, you know.

I'd taken the (debunked) shift to a summer date as a sign of confidence from Paramount... putting a Biblical epic up against men in tights takes some cojones. Anyhow, I'm just glad that I get to see new Aronofsky sooner rather than later!
