Though all the lead roles for Christopher Nolan's sci-fi film Interstellar have been handed out to the likes of Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Michael Caine, and most recently Wes Bentley, some supporting roles have just been filled for those wondering why Nolan isn't bringing a little diversity to the cast. Well, The Wrap reports Red Tails co-stars David Oyelowo (Lee Daniels' The Butler Lincoln, Jack Reacher) and David Gyasi (Cloud Atlas) have landed unknown roles in the film, as details are being kept under tight wraps, just like the script and any plot information. Read on!
In addition, other names like Ellen Burstyn (The Fountain), Timothee Chalamet (the Vice President's son on "Homeland") young actress Mackenzie Foy (last seen in The Conjuring) John Lithgow and Bill Irwin also have roles. This is quite a full cast, and we're pretty sure there aren't anymore significant roles to be filled. Oyelowo has been on the rise for awhile, but Gyasi might be on the verge of breaking out since he seems to have made an impression on Nolan after having a very minor role in The Dark Knight Rises as a prisoner. Now if we could just get some plot details, that would be nice.

This is just a fantastic cast. When/if you deal with a movie that is very 'not-mainstream' in concept...or has a sort of 'high-brow' nature to it, it seems like it helps to have well-established faces to sell it better to the masses. For example, putting DiCaprio in Inception was a great choice. I just hope it's a wild, crazy sci-fi story with a lot of mind-bending concepts and visuals.
