Drake Doremus Making Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult 'Equals'

Following the spectacular directorial debut and Sundance award winner Like Crazy, director Drake Doremus returned to Sundance earlier this year with Breathe In. While the film wasn't nearly as good as his first entry, this writer still found plenty to like about the drama. Now Doremus is lining up his next film called Equals, and he's rounded up two big young stars to take the leads as Deadline reports Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga) and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class) will lead the film written by Moon scribe Nathan Parker and described as a sci-fi love story. Otherwise, there aren't really any real details.
When The Film Stage interviewed Doremus, he said he wanted the film to be similar to his films in a certain capacity by trying to "maintain the elements of the intimacy while doing something bigger and different." In addition, the director said, "I’m really excited to explore a whole new thing while bringing my own passions to it and that’s what’s exciting about collaborating with someone who’s doing something totally different to you as together you can create something very original and unique by bringing different elements to the table.” Moon was one hell of a sci-fi film, and we think Doremus and Parker teaming up could be incredible. Here's hoping they get the best out of Hoult and Stewart.
