Briefly: A big release update regarding a documentary we're excited for this year. Kino Lorber has acquired distribution rights for the doc Drew: The Man Behind the Poster, about legendary poster artist Drew Struzan, and will be releasing it in theaters later this summer. But it will first get a grand premiere at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month. The doc will have a premiere screening on Friday, July 19th at the Gaslamp 15 theater; exact details on how to attend haven't been released yet. For those who can't make it to Comic-Con, the film will then hit limited theaters in New York starting August 16th with a theatrical roll-out after, plus DVD/VOD in the fall. If you love Struzan's art as much as us, add this to your calendar.
Here is the official trailer for Drew: The Man Behind the Poster released last year if you haven't seen it yet:
We'll keep you updated on info on how to attend the premiere at Comic-Con if you'll be there. Otherwise, stay tuned for any other news and reviews. For updates on the doc follow @KinoLorber or @DrewTheMovie.
