Ed Harris and January Jones in Bloody 'Sweetwater' Western Trailer

After premiering at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, the western Sweetwater is still waiting for release here in the United States this fall. But overseas, the film is getting released with the alternate title Sweet Vengeance. In the film, "Mad Men" star January Jones plays a prostitute who seeks revenge after a religious fanatic (Jason Isaacs) kills her husband Miguel (Eduardo Noriega). But a renegade sheriff (Ed Harris) isn't too keen on letting her spill anymore blood. The film didn't receive much praise at the indie festival earlier this year, but maybe audiences will turn out for the indie western anyway. Watch the trailer!

In the late 1800s, a fanatical religious leader, a renegade Sheriff, and a former prostitute collide in a blood triangle on the rugged plains of the New Mexico Territory. January Jones plays a former prostitute living on the New Mexico plains with her husband Miguel (Eduardo Noriega), who struggle with the overbearing landowner and religious fanatic, Prophet Josiah (Jason Isaacs). When Josiah has Miguel killed, Sarah takes the law into her own hands on an with a renegade sheriff (Ed Harris) hot on her tail. Logan Miller directs the film from a script he co-write with his brother Noah. The film will arrive sometime this October. Well?

i read 'Ed Harris' and 'Western' and allowed myself to get excited that we might have another Appaloosa. then i watched that overheated Tarantino-aping trailer and almost lost all interest, save for that which made me click in the first place - Ed Harris, but in an 'unusual' wig. ah well.

A soft-spoken, very good looking young woman playing a gritty pissed off widow...it's more an issue of poor casting than poor acting. I wouldn't expect her to pull this off any more than I'd expect to see De Niro as Homer in Cider House Rules.

Ok, can't say I'm a January fan in general but this reminds me of the movie holes, Kissing Kate Barlow. Can't get it out of my head now.
